Turner Classic Movies has a tribute to movie composer and Hitchcock collaborator Bernard Hermann every Wednesday in December; see “Birds” and “Psycho” on December 30, 2020.
Every Wednesday in December 2020 (except for Christmas Eve, December 24), TCM will broadcast six or more films featuring the master composer. Hermann was a frequent collaborator with Alfred Hitchcock and Ray Harryhausen, and some of their finest films are being shown in the tribute, including North by Northwest, Vertigo, and Jason and the Argonauts.
Although none of Herrmann’s scores were nominated for an Academy Award, two of his film scores – for Psycho and Vertigo – are in the American Film Institute’s list of the top 25 film scores of all time.
Starting at 8 pm ET on Wednesday, December 2, 2020, TCM will broadcast these Hermann films (all times are Eastern Standard Time):

Below is a trailer for Psycho, showing on December 30. Psycho is rated #4 in the American Film Institute’s list of the top 25 film scores of all time.
