Turner Classic Movies has two days of classic horror films to celebrate Halloween 2023. All day Monday and Tuesday, October 30-31, TCM will feature classics starring Boris Karloff, Christopher Lee and more horror icons.
Highlights of the TCM Terror-Thon include:
Monday, October 30, 2023
- :00 am Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1920) starring John Barrymore. Silent version of the Robert Louis Stevenson classic.
- 11:45 am Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1941) starring Spencer Tracy. Hollywood big-screen version of the classic tale.
- 4:45 pm Curse of the Demon (1958) starring Dana Andrews. An anthropologist investigates a devil worshipper who commands a deadly demon.
- 6:15 pm The Devil’s Bride (1968) starring Christopher Lee. A classic British film from Hammer Films, star Christopher Lee, and director Terence Fisher.
- 8:00 pm Burn, Witch, Burn (1962) starring Peter Wyngarde. A skeptical college professor discovers that his wife has been practicing magic. Based on a novel by Fritz Leiber.
Tuesday, October 31, 2023
- 11:45 am Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954) starring Richard Carlson. Scientists track a prehistoric monster in the South American jungle while it tracks them.
- 3:45 pm Frankenstein (1931) starring Boris Karloff and Colin Clive. A crazed scientist creates a living being from body parts. Directed by James Whale.
- 5:00 pm Bride of Frankenstein (1935) starring Boris Karloff and Colin Clive. The first of many sequels, featuring the same cast and director.
- 6:30 pm The Wolf Man (1941) starring Lon Chaney, Jr and Claude Rains. A British nobleman undergoes a startling transformation when he’s bitten by a werewolf.
- 10:00 pm Black Sabbath (1963) starring Boris Karloff. Mario Bava’s classic medley of tales about a haunted nurse, a stalked call girl and a Russian vampire.
