Turner Classic Movies pays tribute to the late Maggie Smith on Tuesday, December 10, with five of her top films being shown.
Smith died at age 89 on September 27, 2024. She is best known to modern audiences for her roles in Downton Abbey and Harry Potter but she has a long list of accomplishments with a 70-year career as a stage and screen star. TCM is showing these Smith films on Tuesday:
8:00 PM Nowhere to Go (1958)
10:00 PM The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie (1969)
12:00 AM Travels with My Aunt (1972)
2:00 AM A Room with a View (1985)
4:00 AM Young Cassidy (1965)
Nowhere to Go was Smith’s first film. In 1970 she won a Best Actress Oscar for her title role in The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie.
