Bruce Willis turned 65 on March 19, joining the ranks of 50 million Americans officially classified as senior citizens.
Willis was born on March 19, 1955 in West Germany. Americans are general considered to be a “senior citizen” when they turn 65, the age when they become eligible for Medicare.
Willis, who has two films coming out later this year, says he is fine with getting older.
“I’m completely comfortable being this age. I know, from an intellectual point of view, that I’m getting older. I see myself getting older. But I don’t feel older,” Willis said in a 2013 interview. “When you’re in your 50s, the statistical average is, you’re gonna be dead in the next 20 to 40 years. While that’s not something I think about all the time, it makes me want to have a good day every day. As many good days as I can have.”
Upcoming Bruce Willis Films
Willis has two films coming to theaters in 2020: Breach, a sci-fi action film co-starring Cody Kearsley and Callan Mulvey, and Survive the Night , a crime drama about a robbery gone bad.
Speculation continues about the fate of McClane, a prequel / sequel to Willis’s Die Hard movies. McClane has been in development for several years but has never begun production. According to the latest reports, the film was shelved in 2019 after Disney bought 20th Century Fox, which had rights to Die Hard and was attempting to begin production. A director, Len Wiseman, and producer, Lorenzo di Bonaventura, are still listed as being on the project. Willis has never officially sighed on but is said to be interested.
