With his surprise win Sunday night, Anthony Hopkins is now as the oldest actor to ever win a non-honorary Oscar.
Hopkins, 83, won the Academy Award for Best Actor Sunday night for his starring role in The Father.
Before the 2021 Oscars, the oldest winner of a competitive Oscar was Christopher Plummer, who won a Best Supporting Actor when he was 82.
Hopkins was not present to receive the award but gave a remote acceptance speech today in the video below, shot outside his home in Wales.
