The hit series 1883 has all 10 episodes, including the season finale, available now on Paramount+. That’s not the end of the story, though, show creator Taylor Sheridan announced.
1883, the prequel to another hit series, Yellowstone, premiered on December 19, 2021. All episodes are available for streaming on Paramount+. The 10th and final show of the season was released early Sunday, February 27, 2022.
1883 follows the Dutton family as they embark on a journey west through the Great Plains toward the last bastion of untamed America. 1883 is a stark retelling of Western expansion, and an intense study of one family fleeing poverty to seek a better future in America’s promised land — Montana.
The series was created by Taylor Sheridan, who also created Yellowstone. The major stars are Sam Elliott, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. Cameos have been made by Tom Hanks and Billy Bob Thornton. The show has a 9.0 rating on IMDB, making it one of the highest rated series ever. You can stream it now at:

1883 Season 2
Although the 1883 Season 1 finale marks the end of one chapter for 1883, additional episodes will be coming later this year, Paramount+ announced.
Paramount+ confirmed on February 15 that more episodes are coming, probably late in 2022. It’s unclear how many new episodes will be shot and if they it will be a full season.
Another Spinoff: 1932
Another 1883 / Yellowstone spinoff is already in the works. Titled 1932, the series will again will center on the Dutton family.
“With Yellowstone, I had built up this back story of where the Dutton family came from, and with 1932, I chose that moment in time to peek back in, because you’re seeing the children we’ve met in 1883 now attempting to raise another generation of Duttons at a time of the Wild West becoming a playground for the elites from the East,” Sheridan said.
Sheridan talks about 1932, 1883 and more series in the works in the new video below.
Parallel Story: Bass Reeves
Still another Sheridan western, but not tied into the 1883 or 1932 story, is Bass Reeves, based on a true character in the 1880s.
“Bass Reeves [was] the first African-American marshal west of the Mississippi,” Sheridan said. “Policing the entire Oklahoma territory.”
Starring as Reeves will be David Oyelowo. “When I’m casting, I’m seeking the great actors of our generation, and David Oyelowo is a once-in-a-generation talent,” Sheridan said.
Oyelowo also discussed the project. “To look at a character like Bass Reeves – I mean, this is the guy The Lone Ranger was based on, who got whitewashed out of history. I just can’t wait to get on that horse and tell this story.”
